After announcing that it will work on a large project for gasification and removal of coal, it turns out that TPP Bobov Dol is active in another investment, which will bring the plant closer to creating fully environmentally friendly energy production and preserving job of hundreds of residents of Kyustendil region.

A local website reports that TPP Bobov Dol plans to install solar panels on the reclaimed ash dump "Suho Dere" with an area of 1.3 million square meters. The property is owned by TPP Bobov Dol and is located on the land of the village of Palatovo, near the plant. The project was submitted to the RIEW with a request to change the purpose of the land from an embankment in a suitable terrain for the construction of a photovoltaic site and energy transmission.

"Our team came up with a detailed analysis. According to estimates, the potential of the solar resource in the area is 1200 kWh / m. When installing photovoltaic panels with an optimal slope, the average annual available resource increases to 1251 kWh / m. ”Explained the executive director of TPP Bobov Dol, eng. Lyubomir Spasov.

The director shared that the conclusions of the study are that there is a good solar resource on site, which makes it economically feasible to develop the production of photovoltaics. Eng. Spasov explained that according to the plan the photovoltaic plant will be mounted on a stationary structure.

The full name of the investment intention is "Construction of a facility for electricity production and transmission of electricity from renewable energy sources using photovoltaic systems."

The terrain of the former ash dump "Suho Dere" has undergone conservation, technical and biological reclamation. An evaluation of the project for installation of photovoltaics by the RIEW is forthcoming.

We remind you that the trend in TPP Bobov Dol is to turn to green energy. TPP Bobov Dol has submitted a request for construction of a gas route to the Plant.

The plan is for the boilers to run on natural gas to replace coal, and in time to switch to hydrogen.
