The profit of the Electricity System Operator in the first quarter of 2021 reached BGN 39.19 million. It increased by 40.8% compared to the same period last year. This is clear from the report on the financial condition of the company in the first quarter of this year.
Sales revenues increased to BGN 172.1 million. In the first quarter of last year, revenues were BGN 12 million less.
This allows ESO to continue its investments in improving the energy infrastructure it maintains throughout the country. The system operator has invested over BGN 53.6 million in property, plant and equipment only for the first quarter of the year.
The company's revenues for the first quarter of the year increased by 5 percent compared to the same period last year and reached BGN 182.5 million. At the same time, the management managed to keep the company's expenses and for the period under review they even decreased slightly to BGN 143.3 million
The transferred quantities of electricity from access for consumers remain at last year's levels and amount to 9.38 million MWh. Reduce the amount of energy from access for wind and solar producers. The quantities of access for other users are increasing.
Transmission costs decreased by 1%, while at the same time the costs for the Electricity System Security Fund increased by 6%.
In support of its activities, ESO has registered its subsidiary - "ESO Engineering". Its main activity will be design, consulting, construction of technologies and projects for energy sites, project management, construction, trade representation and mediation, domestic and foreign trade, purchase and sale of real estate, transport and forwarding, and any other commercial activity that is not prohibited by law. The capital of the company amounts to BGN 500 thousand, and the company was established in February this year. Its manager is Nikolay Nikolov.
