Bulgaria's Electricity Production Down 0.82 Per Cent in January-August 2018, Year on Year
Between January 1 and August 25, 2019, Bulgaria produced 28,894,702 MWh of electricity, down by 0.82 per cent from the 29,134,828 MWh produced in the like period of 2018, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) reports.
Electricity consumption in the country increased by 1.45 per cent in the January 1 - August 25 period, from 24,633,693 MWh in 2018 to 24,990,916 MWh in 2019.
Bulgaria exported 3,903,876 MWh of electricity between January 1 and August 25, 2019, which was 13.27 per cent less than the 4,501,135 MWh exported in the comparable period of 2018.
The baseline generating capacities, such as the Kozloduy N-Plant and the two US-owned coal-fired power plants in the Maritsa Basin: AES Galabovo and ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3, produced 24,362,752 MWh of electricity in the January 1 - August 25, 2019 period, 3.98 per cent more than the 23,430,489 MWh produced a year earlier, the ESO said.
