Electricity System Operator (ESO) teams and facilities are ready to work in autumn-winter conditions

The Electricity System Operator (ESO) implements repair and rehabilitation activities at a total value of over BGN 22 million to ensure trouble-free operation of the company's facilities during the autumn-winter period.

Fuel prophylaxis was performed at 48 substations. The repair works in 20 other substations have been finalized.

A bypass of 856 power lines was made. More than 350 km cuttings with air lines on the territory of nearly 9000 decares were cleared.

Were replaced 120 km lightning protection ropes on air lines  and the anti-corrosion coating of power lines was restores.

The car fleet is also fully prepared for winter. The company also has 10 special purpose machines (UTV), 4 off-road rail cranes, 28 off-road auto towers, 56 off-road vehicles. The mobile teams are equipped with all the necessary means of communication for the exchange of information, as well as with tools, spare materials and clothing for work in specific winter conditions.

In over 50 substations the activities for reconstruction of open distribution systems 110 kV, construction of systems for automated control of the substations, video surveillance, perimeter security and fire alarm are fully finalized.

The electricity system operator strictly implements the set in the investment program of the company for development of the electricity transmission network.

In 2020, the work continued on the construction of the five 400-kilovolt power lines of common European interest, which the company implemented with attracted co-financing from the "Connecting Europe Facility".
