Unemployment in Bulgaria is lower than the EU and euro area average in November 2021

Unemployment in Bulgaria rose to 5.0% in November 2021 from 4.9 per cent in October, compared to the EU-27 and 7.2 per cent for the euro area on average, respectively, with unemployment falling from 6.7 per cent across the EU in October and in the countries of the monetary union by 7.3 percent. This is shown by the data announced by Eurostat.
In our country in the 11th month of last year there were 162 thousand people of working age, and youth unemployment fell to 15.6% in November from 15.9% in October, and 18,000 young Bulgarians were unemployed up to 25 years of age.
There were 13,984 million unemployed in the 27 EU countries in November, of which 11,829 million were in the eurozone. Compared to the previous month of October, the number of unemployed decreased by 247 thousand in the EU and by 222 thousand in the euro area. Compared to November 2020, the number of unemployed decreased by 1,659 million in the EU and by 1,411 million in the euro area.
In November, there were 2.842 million unemployed young people (under the age of 25) in the EU, of which 2.313 million were in the euro area. The youth unemployment rate in the EU was 15.4%, in the euro area - 15.5%, compared to 15.6% and 15.8% a month earlier, respectively.
Among the EU countries, the lowest unemployment rates in September were registered in the Czech Republic (2.2%), the Netherlands (2.7%) and Poland (3.0%), and the highest in Spain (14.1%) and Greece (13.4%). . %).
In Germany, unemployment fell to 3.2% from 3.3% a month earlier, in France to 7.5% from 7.6%, in Italy to 9.2% from 9.4% in October.
In November 2021 the unemployment rate for women was 6.8% in the EU, down 7.0% in October 2021. The unemployment rate for men was 6.3% in November 2021, down 6.4% in October 2021. In the euro area, female unemployment fell from 7.7% in October 2021 to 7.5% in November 2021, while the male unemployment rate fell from 7.0% to 6.9%.
