Head of State Rumen Radev will represent Bulgaria at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly

From September 24 to 26, the head of state Rumen Radev will be on a working visit to the USA. The President will lead the Bulgarian delegation and represent our country within the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

Rumen Radev will participate in the opening of the General Debate at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the theme of which this year is "Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations." "

In New York, the Bulgarian head of state will also participate in the high-level meeting of the Global Coalition against the threat of synthetic narcotic substances, which is being held under the patronage of US President Joe Biden.

On September 25, the head of state Rumen Radev will make a speech during the General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly (around 5:15 p.m. Bulgarian time).

President Radev will participate in the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, a high-level partnership format between NATO and the Gulf Cooperation Council agreed in 2004 at the NATO Summit in Istanbul.

Later in the day, there will be a reception hosted by US President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, honoring heads of state and government and their spouses on the occasion of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

On September 26, President Radev will meet with representatives of leading American companies, organized by the American-Central European Business Association.

During his working visit to New York, President Rumen Radev will hold meetings with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, as well as with heads of state and government and representatives of the governments of various countries and international organizations.

The delegation led by the Bulgarian President includes the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Kondov and the Acting Minister of Environment and Waters Petar Dimitrov. During his visit to the USA, Rumen Radev will be accompanied by his wife Desislava Radeva.
