The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov held a working meeting today with representatives of the leadership of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria. The meeting discussed the implementation of the Investment Program for Municipal Projects financed through the state budget.

Deputy Ministers Vesselina Terziyska and Yura Vitanova participated in the conversation. The Chairman of the Management Board of the Association Daniel Panov, as well as Deputy Chairmen Donka Mihaylova, Ivo Dimov and Radoslav Revanski, participated on behalf of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria.

"It is no coincidence that my first official meeting is with the National Agency for Municipal Development and Regional Development of the Republic of Bulgaria. Our main priority is the quality of life in the municipalities. Our view is that the Investment Program for Municipal Projects must continue in one way or another. It has been seen that it works and contributes to stimulating the economy," Minister Ivanov said to the representatives of the Association. He noted that whether there will be a new acceptance of projects depends on the funds that will be allocated in the budget.

The Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Daniel Panov pointed out that the program allows for project planning and municipalities rely on it.

Deputy Minister Terziyska informed that it will be proposed that amendments to the projects be made by the municipalities only once a year, which will facilitate the implementation of the program.

The Mayor of Troyan, Donka Mihaylova, was categorical that the municipalities will do everything possible to complete the projects that have been started.

During the conversation, the topic of energy efficiency procedures for buildings, which are financed through the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, was also touched upon. Deputy Minister Vitanova announced that all contracts for energy renovation measures for public buildings have been concluded, and public procurement procedures for the selection of contractors are already underway for half of them.

Minister Ivanov proposed that regular meetings be held between the teams of the MRDPW and the NAMRB to discuss current topics and issues.
