By the beginning of July, traffic will be allowed on the Hemus Motorway between Boaza and the Dermantsi Interchange, traffic to Varna, Lovech and Pleven will be eased

By the beginning of July, traffic will be allowed on section 1 of the Hemus Motorway from Boaza to the intersection with road III-307 Lukovit - Ugarchin, including the Dermantsi Interchange. The 16-kilometer section will ease travel to Varna, Lovech and Pleven. This was announced to journalists by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov, who inspected the progress of the construction of the section.

The Minister informed that according to the concluded contracts and estimates, it is expected, after issuing the necessary permits for construction, that the entire highway in the section to Buhovtsi will be built by the end of 2029. "Of course, I hope there will be no problems with the alienation of the lands and other procedures," Ivanov emphasized. He explained that the remaining sections are at different stages of the construction process and expressed regret that due to the stops in the last four years there is a lot to catch up on.

"I held a meeting with the entire staff of the Road Infrastructure Agency after the father of Siyana, who died in the serious accident, said that agency employees were pressured not to protest. My colleagues assured me that no such pressure was exerted. At any moment, whenever they want, they can express their civic position on various topics," said Minister Ivanov in a comment on statements by Nikolay Popov to BNT. "I had a normal conversation with RIA employees to calm them down, to work normally, to perform their official duties normally, because the situation is really quite tense, so that both the employees, the public, and Mr. Popov, do not worry that someone is trying to put pressure on RIA employees," the minister was categorical.
