Finance Ministers Goranov Confers with Eurozone Ambassadors
Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov had a working meeting here on Monday with the ambassadors of the Eurozone countries and Denmark to discuss the progress related to Bulgaria entering the ERM II and the banking union, as well as its economic development, Goranov's Ministry reported.
The meeting was attended by Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev, deputy head of the Financial Supervision Commission Boyko Atanassov and Deputy Finance Minister Marinela Petrova.
Goranov noted Bulgaria's commitment to make additional efforts by mid- 2019 to enhance the supervision in the banking and non-banking financial sectors, improve the macroprudential and insolvency frameworks, and enhance the measures for countering money laundering and for modernizing the management of state-owned enterprises. With these commitments, the Government aims to demonstrate to its European partners that Bulgaria has reached this point of its European integration as the result of persistent and purposeful efforts.
Goranov assured the participants in the meeting that the Bulgarian Government will continue to work for this country's financial and macroeconomic stability and will maintain sustainable and transparent public finances and conditions for economic growth.
During the subsequent discussion, the diplomats attending the meeting have presented their observations on the ongoing process and shared their views about Bulgaria's progress that was presented.
