President Radev Heads Bulgarian Delegation to NATO Leaders Meeting
President Rumen Radev heads the Bulgarian delegation to the NATO Leaders Meeting in London on December 3 and 4, the President's Press Secretariat reported. The delegation also comprises Defence Minister Krassimir Karakachanov and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva.
The meeting marks the 70th anniversary of NATO's establishment and is dedicated to Transatlantic solidarity. The participants are discussing the considerable progress made over the last few years in the fair distribution of burdens, NATO's deterrence and defence potential, the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq, relations with Russia, arms control and the role of China.
During their visit to the UK capital, President Radev and his wife Dessislava Radeva will attend a reception for the NATO leaders and their spouses to be hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.
Radev will talk with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Donald Trump within multilateral formats. He will hold separate meetings with other officials.
Zaharieva will join a dinner of NATO foreign ministers, organized by UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab. RY/VE
