Nitrogen pollutants from Vera Su near Kamen Bryag are still three times above normal
The latest data from last night show an almost twofold decrease in the values of the observed indicators, the Ministry of Ecology announced
The analysis of the data shows almost double decrease of the values of the observed indicators in the two points compared to the previous ones, which can be explained by a change in the direction of currents and wind.
A gradual decrease in the values of the observed indicators in the water near Kamen Bryag has been reported, the Ministry of Ecology announced late last night.
The results of tests of the water samples from 20 and 21 October, taken from a shore point 60 m south of the stranded ship "Vera Su" and from a point next to the bow of the ship, were analyzed.
The analysis of the data shows almost double decrease of the values of the observed indicators in the two points compared to the previous ones, which can be explained by a change in the direction of the currents and the wind. However, the measured concentrations of ammonium nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen are three times higher than the trend observed in the region a week ago.
The teams of the Ministry of Environment and Water (MoEW) continue to monitor the condition of the waters in the Black Sea on a daily basis in the immediate vicinity of the stranded ship "Vera Su" in order to monitor the ship's transhipment operation, the ministry said.
