Vladimir Malinov was elected a member of the board of ENTSOG
The Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz EAD Vladimir Malinov has been elected a member of the Board of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Natural Gas (ENTSOG), the company announced.
The Bulgarian gas transmission operator Bulgartransgaz EAD is a member and co-founder of ENTSOG.
The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Natural Gas (ENTSOG) was established in 2009 in connection with the requirements of the European Union's Third Energy Package. Currently, 45 transmission operators are members of it, including Bulgartransgaz EAD. The main objective of ENTSOG is to facilitate cooperation between gas transmission operators to achieve the EU's energy goals.
The election of the Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz EAD is a high assessment of the professionalism and results achieved by the company in recent years. The development and modernization of the gas transmission network and the work of Bulgartransgaz EAD on strategic projects are of key importance for the liberalization of the natural gas market, market integration in the region of Southeast Europe and the diversification of energy supplies.
ENTSOG has an important role to play in fruitful dialogue, exchange of experience between gas transmission operators in order to stimulate cross-border trade and achieve an integrated European market. Pursuant to Regulation 715/2009 on the conditions for access to the natural gas transmission networks, ENTSOG has developed, monitored and analyzed the implementation of the network codes ensuring the operation and development of the gas transmission systems.
Among the priorities in the work of ENTSOG is the preparation for the new EU legislation in the field of energy and climate, part of the European Green Deal. ENTSOG's reliable development of gas transmission systems in order to achieve the EU's 2050 carbon neutrality targets. The participation of the Executive Director of Bulgartrasngaz EAD Mr. Vladimir Malinov on the board of ENTSOG will allow for active participation of the company in the process of planning and development of gas networks in connection with the energy transition and achieving a low-carbon economy, including by creating conditions for transportation and widespread use of hydrogen.
