Minister Bogdanov: We will improve work in public enterprises

Bulgaria's membership in the OECD is a key priority, the new economic minister pointed out

Improving work in public enterprises is one of the main missions that I set for myself when taking over the Ministry of Economy and Industry. We definitely have areas where we can improve processes and we want to use best practices so that Bulgaria gets as close as possible to its strategic partners. This was announced by the Minister of Economy and Industry, Bogdan Bogdanov, who opened the first meeting of the study mission in Bulgaria to the Corporate Governance Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

During the meeting, Minister Bogdanov emphasized that Bulgaria's membership in the OECD is a key priority. "I guarantee that you will have the full support of all state institutions, consistency in the measures that will be implemented in order to realize our country's membership in the organization," Minister Bogdanov said. He assured that our country has undertaken the necessary changes at the level of legislative changes, regulations for the implementation of specific laws, so as to work in full compliance with the OECD regulations.

Minister Bogdanov expressed confidence that constructive dialogues will be held this week, there will be fruitful cooperation with the OECD in order to achieve the goal of the mission.

The meeting is the first of a series of discussions from June 12 to 15 hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Industry. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Commission for Public Oversight of Registered Auditors, the Audit Chamber, the Ministry of Energy, the National Commission on Corporate Governance, BDZ Holding, KRIB, BTPP, Association are expected to participate in the meetings with the OECD Secretariat "Transparency without borders" and others.
