The Employment Agency is ready to support the laid-off employees at the "Contour Global Maritsa East
The employment agency is fully prepared, we have a good provision of funds from the European funds, so that the people who will be unemployed and registered at the labor office will receive their individual career development plan. This was stated by the resigned Minister of Social Affairs Ivanka Shalapatova to bTV in response to a question about layoffs at the "Contour Global Maritsa East 3" TPP.
Shalapatova announced that on Tuesday she invited the trade union organizations and the team from the company to discuss "week by week coordinated actions". According to her, for those who will remain at work, training in new competencies is planned.
We were informed of the employer's plans. As part of our action plan, even while the people's notice is running, we are starting a procedure together with the trade unions of the so-called mapping and researching attitudes, but also about the competencies of the people who will be released first, explained Shalapatova.
We remind you that the "Contour Global Maritsa East 3" thermal power plant closed its production a month ago and the units have been safely removed from the energy system. The plant is ready to operate again if the electricity market prices allow it. The coal plant is already obliged to pay for quotas of harmful emissions, which greatly increases the cost of electricity production. Most of the workers at the headquarters are currently on leave.
The retired minister said that the analysis of the pension system is not yet ready. She assured that pensions will be increased in the summer, as provided for in the legislation. The good news is that the size of pensions is still ahead of inflation, she commented.
