The construction sector with a leading role in decarbonisation, competitiveness and energy security
At the opening event of the "Three Seas" business forum, the key segments of the activity of "Glavbolgarstroy" were presented
Strengthening the economic competitiveness of the Three Seas region through the development of critical infrastructure and clean energy. This was the central theme of the business forum of the "Three Seas" initiative - "Three Seas Summit and Business Forum", held on April 10 in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius.
The brave executive director of "Glavbolgarstroy" Emil Angelov took part in the opening event. He spoke about the role of the construction sector in energy security, competitiveness, as well as the wide range of activities of "Glavbolgarstroy" on the topic of decarbonization, such as the mobile recycling plant project "MOBICCON-PRO" and the hydrogen project that is about to be implemented in the underground gas storage "Chiren" in partnership with the technological giants "Honeywell", "Solar Turbines" and "Pietro Fiorentini".
Regarding MOBICCON-PRO, the CEO of Glavbolgarstroy emphasized the mobility of the recycling plant, which allows it to be used in different municipalities that do not have recycling facilities. The installation is also extremely suitable for large infrastructure sites, he believes, and adds that the project, on which GBS works with the academic community in partnership with 5 countries, is in an advanced phase of implementation and is currently at the stage of developing technological prototypes.
Attention was also paid to some of the solar projects that "Glavbolgarstroy" implements through the company "Solar G". Among the projects of "Solar G", photovoltaic power plants for own needs and sale in different regions of the country have been completed and put into operation. In a year and a half since its foundation in 2022, "Solar G" has implemented projects with a total installed capacity of over 3,700 kW.
The focus of the conference on the second day of the "Three Seas Summit and Business Forum" was on the energy and transport transformation of the region, the overall economic development of the region, digital infrastructure, cyber security, energy security and net-zero technologies. Among the themes of this year's edition were sustainable economies, transatlantic cooperation and efforts to assist and integrate associated countries such as Ukraine and Moldova.
The "Three Seas Summit and Business Forum" aims to promote cooperation between the public and private sectors, investment and innovation, as well as strengthen ties in the "Three Seas" region. This year's Three Seas event was hosted by the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda.
