Kozloduy NPP with recognition from the World Association of Nuclear Operators
Kozloduy NPP received the highest possible rating on the scale of the World Association of Nuclear Operators WANO - category A. The categorization of all nuclear plants united in the Association is carried out annually based on a system of specific criteria defined by WANO, which reflect operational safety, the level of interaction and support within the organization.
The expert team, which prepared the analysis, confirmed the maximum level of performance by the Kozloduy NPP in all considered indicators.
In an online meeting to present the results of the assessment held in April, the Company's executive director Valentin Nikolov, deputy executive director Andrey Krasnocharov and Bozhidar Rachev - representative of the Moscow Center of WANO at the Kozloduy NPP took part, and the final conclusion of the commission was received at headquarters on May 7.
The Bulgarian nuclear power plant has been awarded for its active participation in the programs of the World Association of Nuclear Operators and is a preferred partner in providing support to other nuclear power plants from the Association in organizing benchmarking, participation of experts in peer reviews and other forms of sharing operational experience. In this way, the strengths and good practices established at the Kozloduy NPP become available to the global nuclear professional community.
Kozloduy NPP has been among the most active members of the World Association of Nuclear Operators since its creation in 1989. The long-term partnership with WANO contributes to the realization of the highest priority in the plant's work - maintaining the highest level of operational safety of nuclear facilities.
