The director of the "Civil Aviation Administration" Anelia Marinova is the first Bulgarian representative to join the leadership of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). She was elected as the vice-chairman of the organization's Management Board.
The institution guarantees safety and environmental protection in the civil aviation sector in Europe. One of its goals is to implement the transition to more ecological aviation. The Management Board is responsible for setting the agency's priorities, drawing up the budget, overseeing licensing and preparing amendments to the regulatory framework.
"The election of the first Bulgarian representative in the most influential aviation safety agency in Europe is a recognition both for Bulgaria and for the professionalism of the Bulgarian aviation administration," commented the Minister of Transport and Communications, Georgi Gvozdeikov. He expressed his conviction that the Bulgarian country will contribute to the development of the aviation sector in Europe, which represents more than a quarter of the world's aviation industry.
