"Bulgargaz" filed an arbitration claim against Gazprom for 400 million euros

"Bulgargaz" EAD started arbitration proceedings against OOO "Gazprom Export" before the Arbitration Court of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris on July 8, the company announced.

The lawsuit filed is for compensation for damages of over 400 million euros, suffered as a result of the unilateral suspension of natural gas supplies more than two years ago, at the end of April 2022.

We remind you that at the end of May 2024, Bulgargaz EAD sent an invitation to Gazprom Export LLC for a voluntary settlement of the claim of the Bulgarian company, according to the contract between the two companies.

After the Russian side did not take action to settle the matter out of court, Bulgargaz took the necessary steps to protect the interests of the company. The Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris is one of the most authoritative institutions in the world that administers the resolution of international commercial disputes.
