Workshops were held in the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy in connection with the water supply in Vidin and Omurtag

Workshops related to the water supply of Vidin and Omurtag were held at the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works today. The talks were initiated by Minister Violeta Koritarova in connection with the situation in the two cities. They were attended by Deputy Minister Veselina Terziyska, representatives of the management of "Bulgarian Plumbing Holding" EAD, local authorities and experts.

"The drought and lack of drinking water is palpable. It is important for us and we are holding talks with all areas where there are problems with water supply," Minister Koritarova said today.

In the next three years, a large part of the internal water supply network of the town of Omurtag will be renewed with funds from the state budget through the Investment Program for Municipal Projects. To date, three agreements for the reconstruction of water pipes in the settlement have been signed between the MRDPW and the Municipality. Their implementation will reduce water losses and improve the quality of the service.

On the part of MRDPW, readiness was declared for the assistance of the local authorities in relation to the projects for water and sanitation infrastructure, so that the procedures could be carried out as quickly as possible.
