The project for the construction of units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy NPP is supported by the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea

The project for the construction of the 7th and 8th units of the Kozloduy NPP, which is the largest not only in Bulgaria, but also in the entire region, has full institutional support from the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. This became clear during the meeting of the Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov with Li Chulgyu, chairman of the Committee on Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startup Companies in the National Assembly of the country, in which the executive director and president of Hyundai Engineering and Construction also participated (Hyundai Engineering and Construction) Yun Young Jun.
"We appreciate the willingness of Hyundai Engineering and Construction to work together with Westinghouse Electric Company so that the two companies together provide an integrated service for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the new facilities. This will guarantee the successful implementation of the project within the set deadlines," Minister Malinov emphasized to his hosts. The participants in the meeting emphasized their common vision for the implementation of the project in strict compliance with the originally set schedule and budget.
Minister Malinov and the chairman of the Committee on Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startup Companies in the National Assembly of the country, Li Chulgyu, also discussed the potential opportunities for deepening the cooperation between the two countries, making a commitment to promote their joint activities in all spheres of mutual interest. "The Republic of Korea is an important partner in the field of solutions to deal with climate change, renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, nuclear energy, new energy technologies and others," emphasized Minister Vladimir Malinov during his visit to the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. In his words, the promotion of investments by companies from both countries in the field of energy will contribute to the implementation of the energy transition.
In front of the representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, the Bulgarian Energy Minister emphasized the accumulated 50-year experience of our country in the exploitation of nuclear power. In this connection, the topic of the prospects for building a repository for spent nuclear fuel discussed in the Republic of Korea was also discussed. The two countries will also exchange experience in the construction and operation of hydroelectric power plants and pumped storage hydroelectric power plants as the most promising energy storage capacities.
