Transport Minister Krasimira Stoyanova signed the protocol for increasing the capital of "Bulgarian Post" by BGN 50 million

The Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova signed the protocol for increasing the capital of "Bulgarian Post" EAD by BGN 50 million. This is a very important step for the recovery, improvement of liquidity and solvency of the company. With the increase in capital, "Bulgarian Posts" EAD ceases to be an enterprise in a difficult situation and will have the opportunity to receive from the state budget the actual proven expenses for the implementation of the assigned universal postal service and the service of paying pensions through post offices. The receipt of the real amount of compensation for the services performed and the provision of capital for the realization of the planned investments by "Bulgarian Post" EAD, will lead to a significant increase in the quality of the services provided by the company, as well as to the improvement of the working conditions of the employees.

The effective increase of the capital of "Bulgarian Post" EAD is a guarantee for the expansion of financing opportunities through loans that correspond to the usual market principles. Negotiations are already underway with the Bulgarian Development Bank for obtaining a bond loan and securing long-term financing for the company.

In order to guarantee the implementation of the universal postal service for the period of the Restructuring Plan, a Law amending the Law on Postal Services was submitted to the National Assembly. The draft law stipulates that the deadline for assigning the obligation to implement the universal postal service is until 2030. The aim is to guarantee the right of every citizen, regardless of his social status, purchasing power and geographical location, to access a minimum package of services with a certain quality and at an affordable price. The bill provides that the company will be entitled to receive the full amount of the compensation.
