Minister Karadimov presented a certificate for a priority investment project with over 800 new jobs in Stara Zagora

The Minister of Innovation and Growth Assoc. Professor Rosen Karadimov presented a certificate for the priority investment project "Solar Panel and Cell Manufacturing Plant" to "Smart Solar Technologies" JSC.

"The company's investment is BGN 240 million and 812 new jobs are planned. We managed to secure state support under the Investment Promotion Act and for this significant investment for the Stara Zagora region," stated the Minister of Innovation and Growth.

The ceremony at the Ministry was attended by Deputy Ministers Krasimir Yakimov and Veselina Mincheva, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Uyanak, the main shareholder and chairman of the board of directors of "Smart Solar Technologies" AD Halil Demirdag and the management of the company, as well as the executive director of the Bulgarian Agency for investments Mila Nenova and the chairman of the National Assembly of the Bulgarian Development Bank Delyana Ivanova.

The new factory for the production of solar panels and cells will be built in the village of Elenino, municipality of Stara Zagora, on the territory of "Industrial Zone-Zagore". "It, together with 10 more industrial parks in the country, is financed free of charge with BGN 14 million under the procedure of the Ministry of Innovation and Growth under the Plan for Recovery and Sustainability", stressed Minister Karadimov.

In the plant near Stara Zagora, two separate productions based on high technologies will be revealed. Within the framework of the investment project, the construction of a production base and administrative buildings is planned. All buildings are planned to be energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, as well as with a zero gas footprint during production. The production is planned to be realized on European markets, mainly in Germany, the Netherlands and Italy.

For his part, Ambassador Mehmet Uyanak thanked the government and the Ministry of Innovation and Growth for the support for the realization of the investment of "Smart Solar Technologies" JSC. "For us, this investment is a source of pride, because in addition to an economic effect, it also has a strong social effect for the region of Stara Zagora. This investment is a good example for Turkish companies, and we will continue to encourage Turkish business to invest in Bulgaria," said Ambassador of Turkey Uyanak.

*The company "Smart Solar Technologies" AD is a joint-stock company with a majority shareholding of "Smart Gunesh Energisi Technologileri Gelishtirme Yuretim Sanay Ve Tikaret Anonym Shirketi", Turkey. The main shareholder is a company with many years of experience in the field of manufacturing solar panels and cells, as well as in the construction of solar parks in Turkey and over 27 European countries. The company is one of the largest suppliers of solar panels in Europe.
