The state will check the activity of the ConturGlobal Maritsa East TPP 3
The Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev ordered the Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov to carry out an inspection regarding information on the reorganization of the activities of the ConturGlobal Maritsa East 3 TPP.
This is necessary in connection with data published in the media, according to which the private TPP will no longer operate on coal, but is looking at renewable energy sources.
The National Electric Company EAD owns a 27% stake in the ConturGlobal Maritsa East 3 TPP, the government reminded.
At the end of February, TPP "Maritsa East" 3 entered the open market and temporarily ceased operations.
In March, the "Labor Bureau" in Stara Zagora announced that they had received a notice to lay off 160 workers from the enterprise from May 10. After that, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Social Affairs, which was attended by representatives of the Ministry, the executive director of the Employment Agency Smilen Valov, the executive director of TPP "ConturGlobal Maritsa East 3" Vasil Shtonov and representatives of KNSB and KT "Podkrepa". At the meeting, a decision was made to start the assessment of the skills of the workers at the "ConturGlobal Maritsa East 3" TPP.
The mapping of the skills of those employed at the ConturGlobal Maritsa East 3 TPP has begun, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy announced in March.
In April, information meetings and a job fair were organized for the workers who were about to be laid off.
