Ivaylo Kaschiev was elected as a board member and vice president of the Association of European Water Regulators WAREG

Dr. Ivaylo Kaschiev, Chief Director of the Water Supply and Sewerage Services Directorate at KEWR, was re-elected as a board member and vice president of the Association of European Water Regulators WAREG for the 2025-2026 term, after successfully holding this position for the last three years. In previous years, a board member of the Association was Eng. Dimitar Kochkov, a member of KEWR.

Dr. Kaschiev’s re-election as Vice President of the Association is the result of his long-standing efforts to study regulatory practices and prepare reports publicly available on the WAREG website (www.wareg.org). Dr. Kaschiev is the author of a report on regulatory practices for benchmarking and performance assessment (KPIs report, 2023) and a report on methods for tariffing water services (Tariff setting 2019), co-author of a report on water efficiency assessment (Water Efficiency KPIs, 2017), an active participant in the preparation of the Association’s positions on the new European directives for drinking water and wastewater, and others.

This is another international recognition of the capacity and expertise of the EWRC, as the best international regulatory practices are applied in regulating the quality and prices of water and wastewater services.
