All conditions for operation of TPP "ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3" have been ensured

As of January 6, 2025, all necessary conditions for operation of the 3rd and 4th units of TPP "ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3" have been ensured. In order to ensure the readiness of the plant to produce electricity, the necessary technical personnel were provided, the relevant repair activities were carried out and the necessary contracts for its operation were concluded, the National Electricity Company (NEC) reported.

The TPP is a company with operational autonomy. National Electric Company EAD is a minority shareholder in it and decisions on the production and sale of electricity are made by its management, NEC recalls.

After the expiration of the long-term agreement with ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 for the purchase of electricity from NEC EAD, the TPP will sell the produced energy on the free market.
