Thanks to the agreement with Botas, a situation with the suspension of gas supplies for technical reasons from Azerbaijan has been avoided

Due to technical reasons, one of the suppliers of Bulgargaz EAD suspended natural gas supplies as of 7.01.25. Supplies are expected to be restored from 11.01.25, the state-owned company announced.

The notification from the supplier under the long-term contract with Azerbaijan was received on 6.01.25.

Thanks to the flexibility under the Agreement with Botas, within a few hours, Bulgargaz EAD provided replacement quantities of natural gas. Thus, the interruption did not result in additional costs for the company to purchase replacement natural gas and did not affect the natural gas market in the region, the statement said.

Such situations once again prove the need to diversify the sources and routes of supply, not only in order to achieve competitive conditions and prices, but also to ensure the security of supplies in the event of possible technical problems, Bulgargaz said.
