The Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov and his deputy Krasimir Nenov met with the German Ambassador H.E. Irene Maria Planck. The focus of the conversation was key energy projects and cooperation in the field of renewable energy, green hydrogen and nuclear energy. This was announced by the Ministry of Energy via its Facebook profile.

Zhecho Stankov introduced Ambassador Planck to the main priorities in the work of the Ministry of Energy, as well as the updated INPEC - the strategic document for the development of the sector.

The interlocutors also discussed topics related to energy security, such as the project for new capacities at the Kozloduy NPP. Another important topic was the balance and stability of the energy system - the government plans to build three new combined cycle power plants at the Batak, Dospat and Teshel dams, which will be managed by NEC. This will provide affordable energy from renewable sources for Bulgarian domestic and industrial consumers.

The two sides agreed that it is important for green energy to be accessible to both households and businesses. Bulgaria continues to work for a sustainable and independent energy system, as became clear during the talks.
