Bulgaria and the Czech Republic maintain stable trade and economic relations. This was confirmed during a meeting between the Minister of Economy and Industry Petar Dilov and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Bulgaria, H.E. Miroslav Toman.

The two talked about promoting partnership between companies from both countries in sectors of mutual interest, such as high technologies, mechanical engineering, transport and energy, which have the potential to ensure stable growth of economic relations between Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.

“I believe that we can deepen our partnership by focusing our efforts on new promising sectors and forms of interaction,” said Minister Dilov. According to him, increasing Czech investments in our country is an important priority for Bulgaria.

The Minister of Economy and Industry pointed out that Czech investments in Bulgaria occupy a significant place in our economy, being concentrated in key sectors. “Over 400 Czech companies operate in our country, creating thousands of jobs and contributing to the technological development of Bulgarian industry,” the Minister of Economy pointed out.

For his part, Ambassador Toman emphasized that in Bulgaria there are already many good examples of Czech companies that have invested in sectors such as telecommunications, automotive, finance, healthcare, IT, logistics, industrial production, etc.

During the meeting, Minister Dilov and H.E. Miroslav Toman also discussed the possibility of organizing a meeting of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, which would provide new guidelines for the trade and economic relations of the two countries.

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to our country emphasized that at the end of last year a Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce was founded, which already has over 40 companies as members. According to him, this will improve relations between businesses from both countries and create a favorable environment for their development.

The two agreed that after Bulgaria's full membership in Schengen, there is even greater potential for cooperation and implementation of joint projects between the two countries.
