The Government has sent to the EC the proposals for amendments to the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan and the REPowerEU draft

The Government approved and sent today to the European Commission the request for amendments to the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan (NRSP) and the draft content of the REPowerEU chapter. The amendment is based on Art. 21(1) of the Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism Regulation, which provides for the possibility of amendments due to objective circumstances.
The renegotiation of the NRSP was raised as a clear priority of the regular government and is the result of the intensive and constructive negotiations with the EC services held over the past two months. The main goal of the submitted request is to create the necessary prerequisites for the successful implementation of the plan in the remaining relatively short period until the end of 2026. The changes also aim to adapt the Plan to the changed economic and political environment, including the consequences of the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis, inflation and the drastic increase in construction costs.
Our country also submitted the long-awaited proposal under the REPowerEU mechanism, which will provide us with access to additional financing in the amount of nearly 480 million euros. The proposal includes three new reforms and three new investments aimed at increasing transparency in the connection of new RES capacities, improving the balancing market, creating a framework for managing energy poverty and measures in the social sector - installing photovoltaics in buildings for social services, etc.
