Bulgaria will start technical preparation of a request for application of a reduced VAT rate for the supply of electricity and natural gas. This was announced by the press service of the Council of Ministers today.
With its decision the government approved a report of the Minister of Finance on technical preparation of a request for a consultation of our country with the VAT Committee of the European Commission on the application of a reduced VAT rate for electricity and natural gas.
Pursuant to Article 102 of Council Directive 2006/112 / EC of 28 November 2006 on the common system of value added tax, Member States may, after consulting the VAT Committee, apply a reduced rate of value added tax to the supply of natural value. gas, electricity or central heating.
